Hidden Bruises
A poetic-theatrical exploration of domestic violence co-produced by Colored Ink and Lyrical Opposition.
Colored Ink and Lyrical Opposition collaborated to produce Hidden Bruises in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The original production examined domestic violence through four perspectives: the victim, the abuser, family, and friends who witness abuse.
Using hip-hop, theater, and poetry, the event presented the story of a teenager attempting to leave an abusive relationship. The program included two performances, a panel discussion, community breakout sessions, and an open-mic component.
